The sculptures in this show were mostly made out of pottery clay and air-drying clay, fun mediums to work with but with too many limitations for the serious sculptor. I now make my sculptures out of a resin which is way more versatile. We are moving to the Yukon currently and once we are all settled in, I start sculpting again. I have a ton of new ideas. I will have to keep myself occupied during those long, cold and dark Yukon winters
The sculptures in this show were mostly chickens and prehistoric horses. The life sized horse head is a fiberglass sculpture of my Icelandic horse Maari. There are also a few reliefs, paintings and drawings, mostly of small things I found in nature.
Paulette creates fantastic characters and the world they inhabit out of paper mache, clay, paint, wire, feathers, and cloth. During the Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour, 9/19/09, near Mtn. View, Arkansas, we enter that magical world and join in the fun at Whisper in the Woods Studio, which she shares with husband, Marc, whose paintings we’ll see in another video.
